Can Slippers Be Embroidered?

June 6th 2026

Slipper embroidery and customer-supplied blank slippers

Clients often ask us what types of blank slippers are suitable for embroidery The Velcro-closure slipper suggestion below is provided as a helpful starting point for customers in search of slipper styles that will work well with embroidery. While there are many slipper options available on the market, we at JB have found that Velcro-style cotton waffle slippers are easier to position, and stabilize as opposed to narrow fixed-strap slippers or heavily molded styles that restrict access for the embroidery arm.

Not every slipper is an ideal candidate for embroidery. Slipper embroidery depends on the material, thickness, construction, padding, seams, available decoration area, and whether the slipper can be properly hooped or stabilized for stitching, which is why we recommend a Velcro closure style slipper. Soft, flat, fabric-based slippers with enough open surface area are usually much better candidates than heavily padded, textured, or unusually shaped slippers.

Before production, we review the slipper style in conjunction with your artwork, quantity, logo placement, and deadline, to determine whether embroidery is realistically feasible for the slipper style being supplied.

Customer-Supplied Slippers

JB Screen Printing & Embroidery does not sell slippers directly. Clients may provide their own blank slippers for embroidery review. If you are sourcing slippers for a hotel, spa, event, or branded merchandise project, please send the product link before purchasing or shipping goods so we can review the item for embroidery suitability.

WEDDINGSTAR Customizable Women's Cotton Waffle Spa Slippers White

White cotton waffle spa slippers with adjustable Velcro closure

Made with soft cotton waffle material, these slippers are designed for comfort, travel, hospitality, bridal suites, spa use, and guest amenity projects. The style includes an EVA foam sole and adjustable Velcro closure, which makes the upper easier to open, position, and embroider, compared to narrow fixed-strap slippers or heavily molded styles.

Based on our experience, we have found that this Velcro-style cotton waffle slipper has been regularly supplied by clients. We are sharing this suggestion as a helpful starting point for clients planning similar hospitality, spa, event, or guest amenity projects. If you intend on providing your own Velcro-closure slipper, please be advised that slippers vary widely in construction and style, therefore projects are reviewed by email before production.

What Makes a Slipper Appropriate for Embroidery?

Slippers are usually better candidates for embroidery when they have a relatively flat decoration area, fabric construction, limited obstruction from seams or padding, and enough space for the logo or initials to stitch cleanly.

Small logos, initials, monograms, and simple hospitality branding are typically more realistic than large, highly detailed artwork. Before confirming production, we review the artwork and slipper construction to help protect the finished result.

Slipper Embroidery for Hospitality and Events

Slipper embroidery may be used for hotels, spas, resorts, bridal suites, private events, gifting programs, and branded hospitality experiences. Because slippers vary widely in construction, all projects are reviewed by email before production.

Have a slipper style in mind? Send us the product link before purchasing or shipping your slippers, and we will review the item for embroidery suitability.
