Custom embroidered patches make an immediate visual impact and are a practical way to showcase your brand, organization, or event. Available in a wide range of shapes, colors, and finishes, embroidered patches can be used to embellish jackets, jeans, backpacks, uniforms, and other apparel or fabric items. They are also a strong option for commemorative merchandise, event apparel, staff uniforms, promotional products, and branded collections.

IRON ON PATCH BACKING

Iron-on patch backing can be applied with a standard home iron at approximately 302°F for 5–8 seconds. Iron-on backing is appropriate for ceremonial and casual wear, but it is not recommended for activewear or sportswear. Traditionally, iron-on backing is used to help position the patch before sewing. For garments intended for active lifestyle or sportswear use, sewn application is the better option for long-term durability.

HOOK & LOOP PATCH BACKING

Hook-and-loop patch backings are commonly used for law enforcement, military, tactical, and uniform applications. The backing uses small hooks and loops, similar to Velcro-style fastening systems, allowing the patch to be attached, removed, and reapplied as needed. This option provides a secure application while allowing patches to be changed or repositioned without permanently sewing them onto the garment.

VELCRO PATCH BACKING

Velcro patch backing uses a hook-and-loop design that allows embroidered patches to be attached, removed, and reapplied as needed. This backing option makes patches interchangeable across compatible garments, bags, uniforms, and other products. For orders that require removable patches instead of permanent sewing or iron-on application, Velcro backing is a practical option for custom embroidered patches.

HEAT SEAL PATCH BACKING

Heat seal backing works similarly to iron-on backing, creating a bond between the embroidered patch and the fabric when heat is applied. Unlike standard iron-on backing, heat seal patches cannot be applied with a home iron. This application requires the correct combination of pressure, time, and higher temperatures to bond properly. For this reason, heat seal patches are applied in-house using a professional heat press machine.

All of our embroidered patches are produced with an iron-on backing by default, however these can also be sewn by our Cut & Sew department or your local tailor.
